I've spent 20+ years turning hard problems
into elegant systems and good engineers into great ones.
I wrote my first program in BASIC in 1984, at six years old. What started as childhood curiosity became a 20-year career at the intersection of deep technical craft and organizational leadership.
I've founded companies, sold them, rebuilt them, and built the teams to run them. My career arc is unusual: I'm equally at home designing a distributed system architecture as I am running a hiring process, defining culture, or sitting across the table from an executive team.
The through-line across everything I've built is a belief that great software and great teams are inseparable — one without the other rarely lasts.
A B2B fintech trading platform for the precious metals industry — built from a blank canvas as sole engineer, scaled to nine-figure monthly transaction volume, and grown into a full product suite with a 12-person engineering organization behind it.
Conceived, architected and built the entire platform alone. Revenue within weeks of launch. Later built a 12-person team around it and stepped back from day-to-day development entirely.
PlatformGold® and its public API collectively process nine-figure monthly volume — surpassing the company's entire human trading team as the primary revenue channel.
The PlatformGold® public API — designed and launched from scratch — grew to an eight-figure monthly run rate, enabling industry partners and technology providers to integrate directly.
It is hard to summarize how integral Aaron has been in my development as a professional in the technology field. Not only is he a great developer, but also a thoughtful co-worker. He truly cares about the projects he encounters as well as the people around him. Aaron is a true asset to any company he works for.
Aaron Lozier was my boss at Potenza, Inc. Immediately upon starting I knew I had made the right decision to join his team. Aaron cultivates a culture of respect, honesty, and creativity that makes working under him a great experience. His passion for innovation, coupled with his distinct creative solutions makes Aaron not only a great leader, but also a vital asset to any development team.
Aaron was contracted by our Company in 2012 to develop an automated time management system. Aaron developed software for our time gathering system and daily time ticket generation program within the budget and timeframe we had envisioned. Etiquette has allowed me to see reports in 24 hours which used to take me 3 months to get.
"Delivered serendipitously on the 60th anniversary of Grace Hopper's discovery of the first literal software bug."
A talk about gaining a new appreciation for old technology — and honoring the COBOL programmers whose code still quietly runs the world. An argument for why the engineers who inherit messy systems are often the most valuable ones in the room.
